OLIVIERS & CO PRODUCER
Léo Coupat
At the helm of Moulin La Bastide du Laval stands the young entrepreneur Léo Coupat. Founded in the year 2000, this family-owned business produces olive oil.
Moulin La Bastide du Laval produces three categories of olive oil: green fruity, with vegetal aromas of herbs accompanied by a slight bitterness and spiciness; ripe fruity, offering softer aromas reminiscent of exotic fruits and banana; and finally, traditional olive oil crafted from matured olives, with aromas of tapenade, candied fruits, or chocolate.
A FAMILY TRADITION
The Coupat family, established as olive growers in the South Luberon since 1998, is renowned for its award-winning olive oil production. In 2014, Léo's parents, Carine and Roland Coupat, took a new step by becoming millers.
This evolution marks the culmination of an adventure that began as a return to nature and allows them to guarantee the quality of their production comprehensively. "They truly embody the concept of olive tourism by offering tours of the estate and the olive grove along marked trails, tasting sessions, and an introduction to the different types of olive oil, as well as training in olive cultivation and cooking classes," says Léo Coupat, now at the helm of Moulin La Bastide du Laval.
With its 4,000 olive trees, views of the Luberon mountain, and an eighteenth-century bastide, the estate provides an ideal setting for both an educational and enjoyable approach to this Provencal green gold.
