Olive oil for frizzy or dry hair?

Olive oil works on all types of hair, whether long, short, dry or curly. Especially for frizzy hair it is essential to make regular masks. A mask really works when it is applied to your hair over a long period of time, minimum 2 hours, so that the oil can penetrate the hair deeply.

The different hair care products based on olive oil

There are two types of hair care products: baths and masks. But what is really the difference between these two methods?

Softening and moisturizing hair with an olive oil mask

A mask is simply used after shampooing to soften the hair. It is applied only to the lengths. There are several types of masks (moisturizing, nourishing...) but the common ingredient to all of them is vegetable oil. Olive oil is one of the few oils suitable for all hair types. It is the ingredients you add to the oil that will define the role of the mask on your hair.

An olive oil bath for hair

The oil bath is applied before shampooing. As its name suggests, it is a bath that will extend the life of your hair. The principle is to coat your hair with oil, wrap it in cellophane and add a warm towel over it to make it penetrate directly into the hair. This type of treatment is highly recommended for dry or damaged hair. Here the oil will simply replace the role of sebum, often lacking on the lengths, to restore softness and strength to the ends.

How to apply olive oil on the scalp?

We recommend applying the oil once a week directly to dry hair to prevent water from creating a protective barrier. Massage your hair from the ends to the scalp in a gentle way to soak up the oil. Wrap in a towel and let sit for one to two hours. Rinse with clean water before shampooing.

Olive oil for the face

Olive oil and lemon mask for the face (also for hair)

Olive oil can also have great benefits for your face. Do you have oily, dull skin or large pores? Mix olive oil with honey while adding lemon juice. The effect of the oil mixed with the lemon juice will clean and give radiance while softening your skin thanks to the honey.
On the other hand, for dry skin it is better to use a nourishing mask made of oil and honey. Once tested, you will adopt this mask!

Mask recipe for dry skin:
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil (32g)
- 1 tbsp of honey (25g)

Mix the two ingredients together until you have a smooth product. Clean your face beforehand, then apply the olive oil mask to your face so that it covers your face in a thin layer. Leave on for 30 minutes and then rinse off. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a week.
